Blanket
Bay sits on the northern end of Lake Wakatipu and offers an unusual
combination of outstanding natural beauty, adventure, luxurious
accommodation and sumptuous cuisine.
The main lodge has been built in grand alpine style with much
use of local timber and stone. Boasts the Great
Room, a vaulted room with wooden flooring and earned ceiling,
warmed by crackling log fires in a vast fireplace. There's an
adjacent Den with deep-seated sofas where guests may relax after
a day's adventure.
There's a private wine cellar and two dining rooms where the finest
Pacific-Rim cuisine may be enjoyed, implemented by excellent local
wines. During the summer, meals are taken on the terrace with
spectacular views over the lake and mountains. Accommodation consists
of spacious Lakeside Rooms and units, all boasting exquisite furnishings
and a decor of wood and natural materials.
Standard features include king-size beds, sitting area, terrace
r balcony and en suite facilities, whilst the Suites feature fireplaces,
extensive terraces and some have a separate lounge. There's also
a spa, gymnasium, games room and TV room, whilst nearby attractions
include 'boating on the Dart River, walking in the National Parks
or helicopter excursions to magnificent Milford Sound. Highly
